Have you ever wandered through an orchard under the summer sun, laughter echoing across rows of trees heavy with ripe cherries?
Last summer, my family and I visited a beautiful cherry orchard on a perfect, golden morning. The endless rows of cherry trees greeted us, their branches sagging with clusters of deep red fruit.
Arriving at the cherry orchard
We each grabbed a basket and wandered into the orchard, savoring the quiet thrill of the hunt. There’s something soothing about reaching up to pluck the plumpest cherries, their warm skin still glistening from the sun. I indulged and tasted one straight from the branch—sweet, tart, and perfectly juicy.

But the real joy came from being together. We swapped stories and laughter as we moved between the trees, sometimes competing to see who could find the brightest cherry. Under the shade, we shared snacks and took in the peaceful countryside.

By the afternoon, our bags overflowed. The ride home smelled of fresh fruit, and later, those cherries became pies, jams, and sweet memories for winter’s colder days.

Cherry picking isn’t just about filling baskets; it’s about making memories and cherishing time with family. And now, with summer just around the corner, I’m already counting down the days until we’re back, with another basket of sweet cherries and another day of laughter with the people I love.
